Singapore - The Myjia FFC website is finally up after weeks of delay. This piece of good news follows Myjia's recent fine run of form which saw them chalk up their third successive win on the trot on Saturday at Marina South. Top scorer Junhao continued his impressive goalscoring run with a brace to secure a 5-4 win for Myjia.
The match was played in muddy conditions watched by a crowd of 14 relatives who came well-prepared with poncho and the likes. Yellow Team started the game nervously and were soon overwhelmed by Myjia's pacy attacks down the wings flanked by guest player Ah Kwang and Eugene. Ah Kwang was instrumental in the opening goal when he floated in a cross which the goalkeeper flapped allowing Eugene the simple task of slamming the ball into an open goal.
Junhao got into the act soon after when he harried a defender into a mistake before rounding the keeper to hit the first of his two goals. Yellow Team fought back bravely and were duly rewarded with a goal from their burly striker. Myjia showed exactly why they are so hard to beat when they restored their two goal cushion just before halftime. Free-scoring forward Junhao expertly latched on to a through pass by Wai Meng and beat the keeper with a delicate chip. 3-1 to Myjia.
The second half was a messy and drab affair, not helped by the worsening condition of the pitch. Despite a late rally by Yellow Team, Myjia resisted any chance of a comeback with another goal by Eugene after the opponents had conceded a clumsy own goal.
