Myjia FFC 6 Young Chinks 2: Junhao(3), Wai Meng, Delvin, Kenneth

Yio Chu Kang - What a game! Another unbelievable weekend of football by Myjia as we start the season rolling after the disappointing game a fortnight ago.

6-2 against a young Young Chinks side is a great result given the opponents superior speed. Myjia's performance was very creditable and definately encouraging for Season Two. Despite going down to an early goal courtesy of a failed offside trap, the team showed a never-say-die attitude to take the game to the Chinks and even led 3-2 at halftime.

There was no need for a pep talk at halftime, such was the belief from team manager Vincent Low. The team spirit and willingness to work for one another was there for all to see and further goals in the second half silenced off the Chinks resistance.

So, one season and two games played, what better time to recap the players' performance than after a resounding victory?

Goalkeeper: Raymond
Commanding throughout the match, there was nothing he could do about the two goals conceded, one of which was a penalty.
Rating: 8

Sweeper: Vincent (Capt)
Showed his experience in defence as well as his reading of the game. Organised the offside trap successfully more often than not.
Rating: 7.5

Stopper: Jackson
Did well in an unfamiliar position and was a real threat whenever he forayed into the opponents' half. Showed flashes of his dribbling skills during the match.
Rating: 7.5

Leftback: Delvin
Goals: 1
His versatility and speed are his greatest asset as he stormed down the left flank and cracked in a swirling shot which any striker would have been proud of. Did not neglect his defensive duties either.
Rating: 9

Rightback: Wilkin
Grew in stature during the game though had an average game by his standards.
Rating: 7

Centre Midfield: Kenneth
Goals: 1
Got himself a well-deserved goal and has been the heart and engine of the Myjia midfield for the past season and again during the match.
Rating: 9

Centre Midfield: Wai Meng
Goals: 1
A declining presence in midfield but redeemed himself a little with a freekick to break his goal drought for Myjia. His last goal was on 19 August 2006.
Rating: 7

Left Wing: Wilson
Had a relatively quiet game but ventured with purpose down the flanks. Earned the freekick which Wai Meng put away.
Rating: 7

Right Wing: Ebenzer
Troubled the left defender in the second half after a dismal first 45 minutes. Almost scored his first goal of the season only to be blocked by a last ditch stop by the goalkeeper.
Rating: 7

Striker: Ronnie
Supreme work ehtics. Raced back to cover the rightback on several ocassions and was unfortunate not to put his name on the scoresheet.
Rating: 8

Striker: Junhao
Goals: 3
Another fantastic display by the chief striker. Continuing his goalscoring form from last season. Capped his hat-trick with a simple sidefoot finish after a glorious Myjia move which Delvin squared for him to finish.
Rating: 9

Striker: Eric
Missed a penalty but otherwise a solid performance. A natural tendancy to drift to the flanks has deprived him of more chances on goal.
Rating: 7.5
