THE EDITION OF MYJIA ONLINE
Balestier - Myjia striker Eric Low scored his first goal for the club with an opportunistic finish while winger Jackson Seetoh ran into a hot streak of form with his third goal in as many games to seal a lacklustre 4-2 win for Myjia on Saturday.

On the back of two consecutive defeats, Myjia set out to correct the sequence with the players in high spirits and raring to go. Even veteran player Michael Low had warmed up for the match in goal and was ready to make his first appearance of the season until a decision was taken to field the fitter Aaron Tan to replace first choice keeper Raymond Tan who was unavailable through work commitments.

Despite the absence of the commanding Raymond in goal, Aaron was largely untested by the slow V.S.C. team albeit for their sole striker. Myjia defence were reasonably steady as Myjia attempted to dictate play from the back up.

The initial passing from Myjia was average but the standard began to deteriorate by the minute in what was arguably one of Myjia's poorest game.

Nonetheless, Delvin discovered some form on the right after two dismal performance in Myjia colours and on the 20th minute, his dummy from a Yongchun through pass put Jackson through and the winger showed tremendous acceleration and finishing to apply a simple touch to put Myjia one goal up in what was becoming a labourious affair on a fair Saturday afternoon.

The equaliser from V.S.C. was always going to come looking at the overall poor form Myjia has showed. And so it happened when a careless mistake by sweeper Vincent Low allowed the striker all the space and time to slot past a hapless Aaron. 1-1, game on!

Kenneth Koh, who was quiet for much of the game attempted to take matters into his own hands when he dribbled through the V.S.C. midfield and defence before being upended in the box.

The much-maligned referee had no hesitation in awarding a penalty and up stepped fullback Ebenzer Low to take the kick. Taking his first career penalty, the nerves showed as the youngster skied his effort just past the post as V.S.C. heaved a sigh of relief.

V.S.C. were looking more likely to win the game increasingly after the miss but somewhat fortuitously, Myjia raised their game slightly and surged ahead just before the halftime whistle.

Junhao once again displayed his predatory instinct when Wai Meng's chip into the box was half cleared by the defender. The Myjia hotshot took a quick glance and lofted the ball over the keeper for a clean finish.

At halftime, it was clear that the game was there for Myjia's taking and the team was not about to let the chance slip away despite playing poorly in general.

A tactical emphasis was made to make use of Myjia's superior pace and the effect was immediate as Myjia surged down both flanks with great speed and never looked like losing in the second half.

It was through one such surge down the left flank with the final ball supplied invitingly to the feet of Eric Low that increased Myjia's lead to 3-1. Striker Eric who has yet to open his account for Myjia took a confident touch and slotted the ball past the sliding keeper much to the delight of the Myjia supporters in the stands and team mates alike.

V.S.C. were down and out but still managed to steal a goal back to bring the score closer at 3-2 in the 73rd minute.

Myjia winged wonder Delvin who had been creating havoc down the right having created two glorious chances which both were missed by Ebenzer had a final say on the final scoreline.

Cutting in from the right wing, Delvin took a delicate chip which caught the keeper off guard to finally score the goal which he had craved so much for.

The final score read 4-2 in Myjia's favour and the losing streak arrested by a match best remembered for Eric's first goal for the club.
