THE EDITION OF MYJIA ONLINE
WAIMENG LAUNCHES PERSONAL BLOG

Boon Lay - Myjia midfielder Leong Wai Meng has finally launched his personal blog after a four year hiatus.

The decision to relaunch his blog is to hopefully encourage fellow Myjia members to link their personal blogs to the Myjia website.

Meanwhile, a record crowd of Myjia members is expected at the farewell matches to be held at the National Stadium on Saturday.

MYJIA FAIL TO WIN DESPITE DELVIN BRACE

Juying 5 Myjia 3

Boon Lay - Myjia went down 5-3 on Saturday despite taking a well-deserved 3-2 lead at halftime.

Witnessed by a spontaneous crowd, Myjia went behind first before Delvin hit a first-time shot for a quick equaliser.

Myjia went behind again but Delvin was up to the challenge of deputising for Junhao and promptly added a beauty when he curled a shot to the top right corner to tie Myjia at two apiece.

After twice fighting back to level the score, Myjia got a much deserved breakthrough when midfielder Leong Wai Meng burst through the midfield and calmly slotted past the keeper to give Myjia a 3-2 lead at halftime.

Player/manager tinkered with the formation during the peptalk at halftime but it proved to be a tactical mistake as Juying FC came storming back. The youthful Myjia defence were pegged back for long periods and finally caved in at 3-3.

Despite a tactical switch back to the system used in the first-half, Myjia failed to recover from the horrid start to the second half and finally succumbed 5-3 to the host.

Delvin Keen On Myjia Stay

Jurong West - Myjia speedy wing wonder Delvin Ng has told Myjia website that he will be playing this Saturday.

Delvin has reaffirmed his desire to carry on playing for Myjia despite a recent training bust-up with fellow midfielder Eric Low.

The matter has been dealt with by player/manager Vincent Low and the incident is unlikely to dent the team spirit at Myjia.

"I Will Protect My Players" - Manager

Pasir Ris - Myjia player/manager Vincent Low has launched a scathing attack at yet another Malay team that resorted to roughhouse tactics when staring at defeat before proclaiming he will protect his players at whatever means.

In a similar manner to the opening match this season, Myjia was forced to abandon the game though this time round, Myjia held a 4-2 lead that was never going to be threatened.

East Malay Reds started the game with more intent ona wet Saturday afternoon. Their first attack down the right flank saw on-loan keeper Ben Lim make a fine impression with a fingertip push to snuff out the imminent danger.

That piece of action proved to be the sole threat from the Reds as Myjia stamped their authority with great discipline and teamwork despite missing several team members.

Myjia's first real chance of the game came in the 15th minute after some neat passing in the midfield saw Wilkin float a tempting ball in for chief striker Chia Junhao. Spotting the keeper out of his line, Junhao instinctively lobbed the ball high into the air and eventually, even a last ditch attempt by the keeper failed to keep the ball out of the net.

The lead was soon increased to two goals for Myjia in the 23rd minute of play. A freekick was awarded for a foul on Jackson and Wai Meng swept the ball towards the goal only for the keeper to fumble and Junhao pounced onto the ball to put Myjia 2-0 ahead.

By the half hour mark, Myjia had increased the lead to 3-0, courtesy of another Junhao strike, this time rounding the keeper before guiding the ball into the empty net. Amazingly, the goal was Junhao's 17th of the season.

Myjia dropped a gear and it promptly allowed East Malay Reds to snatch a goal back from their mecurial left winger. Junhao was not finished with his goalscoring act though. Minutes before the halftime whistle, Junhao found himself with space and time in the penalty box and in his usual manner, calmly slotted the ball past the flailing arms of the keeper.

4-1 at halftime and Myjia were in total control were hardly troubled by the opposition though East Malay Reds did score another goal to make the scoreline flattering for them.

With the game dominated by Myjia and seemingly headed for the final whistle at 4-2, the game flared up with two malicious tackles on Delvin. The Myjia youngster deserves credit for not retaliating and despite the referee's best intent to carry on the game by sending off the offening player, player/manager Vincent Low stepped in to abandon the game to protect his players.

On the injury front, Raymond Tan has joined Eugene Low in the treatment room with a shoulder injury sustained during training. The impressive goalkeeper could be out for a month.

Player/manager Vincent Low has moved quickly in the transfer market signing young keeper Ben Lim from Impulse East FC on loan. Ben is believed to have been recommended by Myjia academy graduate Ebenzer Low who incidentally hails from the same class as Ben.

The loan contract has a clause which allows Myjia an option to make the deal permanent for an undisclosed fee. "I have heard alot about Ben from Ebenzer and from what I see, he has what it takes to be a great signing for Myjia. As it is, he has impressed me in his first game for Myjia. Now he just needs more big match experience," explained Vincent.

Kenneth and Raymond Confirm Absence

Myjia - A well-informed source has revealed to this website that Raymond is set to miss this weekend match at Pasir Ris Crest together with Kenneth who is on a diving trip.

This latest setback follows the dismal performance of the team a fortnight ago and Myjia manager has an enormous task at hand to lift the morale of a team with several players unavailable due to work commitments and injuries. Worse still, Myjia FFC has seen its number of fans at matches dwindling.

The weekend match, with the dreadful weather recently, looks like a potential minefield. Another crushing defeat and low attendance could well open a can of worms.

KEN SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

Lakeholmz - Promising midfielder Kenneth Koh has signed a contract extension with Myjia FFC that will see him end his career at the amatuer club.

Kenneth has been in superb form this season and has already notched an impressive 4 goals in 7 games.

The news of his renewed contract has unfortunately been met by his admission that he will be unavailable for the forthcoming match.

Kenneth is believed to be handed a break to East Malaysian state Sabah for a scuba diving trip to recharge his batteries for the gruelling season ahead.
Hougang - Myjia FFC suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, partly due to the unavailability of several key players.

Three quick goals in succession for the Fruitees in the first half hour doused any fire remaining in the Myjia players. Myjia though, got a consolation goal of sorts just before half time when a counter attack was eventually converted by on-loan player Stanley.

That goal proved to be the only reward for the much-weakened Myjia team who fielded Jerry in goal and had to recall Peter Koh for the match from FC Shanghai where he has been on loan.

The second half was a rather one-sided affair and the Fruitees avenged their defeat last season with further goals to end the match 7-1 in their favour, hence posting Myjia's heaviest defeat this season.
