THE EDITION OF MYJIA ONLINE

200 Visits in 2 Days

Web - Myjia Online has discovered a startling statistic.

Since its introduction of the web counter, the number of visits has risen from a starting figure of 900 to the current figure of almost 1,100. The incredible part is - it took only two days to reach that figure. All that means, Myjia receives about 100 visitors each day, not too bad for an amateur club from Singapore!

Way to go Myjia!
SUNNY TURNS DADDY!
Jurong West - Myjia centreback Sunny Rai became a daddy for the first time following the birth of Sunny Jnr, also known as Akash Rai.

The brilliant piece of news caps an excellent season for Sunny and Akash has already been drafted into the Myjia Youth Academy.

The young Akash, who is a splitting image of his daddy, looks the part for a promising footballer much like Sunny. However, Myjia teammates will be hoping Akash possesses much more pace.

Nonetheless, on behalf of the Myjia Board and playing staff, the heartiest congratulations to Sunny!

UNBEATEN RUN ENDS

Boon Lay - Myjia FFC recent unbeaten run ended on Saturday at the hands of St. Pat's Old Boys.

Despite leading 2-1 at halftime through Jackson and Junhao, Myjia failed to keep up the tempo and eventually finished on the losing side at 5-2 in favour of St Pat's.

Myjia players rued the misses during the game and believed the referee has to take much of the blame for his myopic view of the game.

Winger Wilson Tan had appeared to level the score for Myjia at 3-3 but his effort was judged to be on the line as the keeper scrambled back to collect his fluffed parry.

The winger had another chance later on in the match when his low drive from outside the box went inches wide.

Most annoyingly, midfielder Leong Wai Meng had a legitimate goal wrongly ruled offside after he thought he had made amends for an earlier miss in the first half where his sliced scissors kick went off the mark.

All in all, a thoroughly disappointing performance by Myjia, missing Kenneth Koh in midfield who could have provided the extra spark to ignite a Myjia comeback.

Vincent turns 42

Tuas - Myjia player-manager Vincent Low celebrates his 42nd birthday on Friday, 12th October after leading Myjia to a superb 4-1 victory last Saturday.

The veteran has had undisputed success with Myjia thus far and Myjia Online wishes Vincent a happy birthday and many more great wins and goals ahead.

Not forgetting Myjia youngster, Vincent's son, Ebenzer Low who will also be celebrating his 16th birthday on 18th October about a week later. Happy birthday too Ebenzer...Huat ar!

HAO SUPERB!

Boon Lay - Chia Junhao scored a brilliant double to lead Myjia to a superb 4-1 victory over a fit 42 SARers side.

The Soldiers took an early lead after defender Sunny Rai suffered a lapse in concentration to allow the striker a clear shot on goal which left Raymond with no chance.

Despite looking the much fitter side and physically much bigger, the Soldiers were not able to make much leeway past Myjia's defence until Sunny's rare error.

The goal woke Myjia up from her slumber and although topscorer Junhao started on the bench together with young hotshot Delvin Ng, Myjia found enough in her reserves to nick an equaliser.

Leong Wai Meng started the attack down the middle and with fellow midfielder Kenneth Koh on the right, the former released Kenneth down the wings. Dribbling past the leftback, Kenneth swung in a left footed cross which evaded everyone. The ball dipped in front of the goalkeeper and somewhat clumsily, the keeper misjudged the bounce for Myjia's equalising goal.

1-1 and Myjia were on the rise. Approaching the 45 minute mark, rightback Wilkin Tan combined well with Wai Meng to release right winger Wilson Tan into the penalty box. The young winger showed a good first touch but delayed his shot just long enough for a defender to make an important recovery.

The second half began in a blaze for Myjia. Within two minutes of the restart, Delvin scored with his first touch after his introduction at halftime.

The goal was a testament to Delvin's demonic speed and his blossoming killer instinct. Outpacing two defenders, Delvin squeezed past the couple and with the keeper approaching at fast pace, the Myjia striker opted for a measured lob into the empty goal. Pure class.

2-1 to Myjia and with the teamwork shown by Myjia, a win was on the cards by the time Junhao made his entry into the game.

Junhao showed his natural predatory instinct once again and off a corner in the 55th minute, Myjia's lead increased to 3-1.

The inswinging corner was headed half clear by the Soldiers defender and with the poise and sharpness of a seasoned striker, Junhao produced a stupendous volley past a sea of defenders for the first of his brilliant double.

Soldiers had no answer to Myjia's superior teamwork and Junhao produced a carbon copy of his goal in the 75th minute to eventually lead Myjia to an outstanding 4-1 victory as well as extend Myjia's unbeaten run to a new season record of seven games.

Starting Lineup (4-4-2): Gk-Raymond, Leftback- Ebenzer, Centrebacks- Sunny, Vincent, Rightback- Wilkin, Left Wing- Eric, Centre Midfield- Wai Meng, Kenneth, Right Wing- Wilson, Strikers- Ryan, Ronnie
